1. Robyn
Born in Stockholm, she is a well-known pop singer: she started her professional career under the name of Robyn in 1995. She founded her own label, bored by the international music industry.
I listened to her interviews and she really looks like a smart and independent woman that know what she wants.
She is quite famous also for her "rebel" style: large t-shirts, short blond haircut, and a lot of energy.
My favorite line? In a interview for Vogue she said "for me it's really important to keep my integrity, and not become an advertisement spot for a designer".
She obtained several Grammy's nominations, thanks to her work. Her most famous song? Dancing on My Own.
2. Zara Larsson
This young pop singer, born just eighteen years ago in Solna, near Stockholm, imposed herself in the worldwide charts with Lush Life, Never Forget You and the official song for the UEFA Euro 2016, This One's for You, in collaboration with David Guetta.
She started her career at the age of ten, participating in the Swedish version of Got Talent, winning it. In the same year she was able to record her first single.
Do you remember the refrain "I DON'T CARE!I LOVE IT!" that everybody was screaming in the discos few years ago? It's an Icona Pop song! We hope to hear more in the future.
Born in Ystad, in the southern part of Sweden, daughter of a punk singer and a photographer she spent her childhood traveling around the world. Thanks to the indie pop style, her songs are widely used in tv series such as Vampire Diaries, Good Wife and also movies. I Follow Rivers is her main success.
5. Europe
Now it's time to make a jump into the past!
"It's the final countdown, dadada! Dadadadada!"
Yes, You know that one, and yes, The Final Countdown is a Swedish song. Shocked?
Europe gained the success during the magic and crazy 80ies and they are one the most famous Swedish bands of all time (i really think they don't really like ABBA), also if their main activity period was just ten years (82-92). In 2003 they decided to return, but obviously we will always remember them as part of a past that we miss a lot or we would like to live (i'm from the 90ies, sorry).
Did you like it? What is your favorite swedish music artist? Leave a comment! :)
